Important information you need to know before buying Eight Liners online

In recent months there has been several new companies to hit the internet claiming to offer the best games at the lowest prices. We would like to help you wade through the hype so you can make a clear choice on your own.

Things to consider before buying..............

1) What type of components are used in the game?  This is the #1 form of deception we see being used by some companies. If your buying a game with copied or pirated boards your going to have big problems down the line. Pirate boards are used by some dealers to save money and increase their profits while putting you at serious risk. We have seen these boards award players tens of thousands in credits by accident and just plain not be reliable. Beware of games that you are not familiar with like "Hot Runner, 4 Winners, 10 Balls, Wild Animal,  Butterfly, etc..... We will not sell any game that we would not put in a location of our own. All games that we sell are tested extensively to assure you quality and reliability.

Be sure that your supplier uses a quality power supply in your game. This is the life blood of your game. Any variation in voltage beyond the game boards operating range of 5.00-5.25 VDC will cause your game to act very irregular and possibly award points for no reason. Also if the power supply fails, your game is down and not making money. Some dealers use these cheap power supplies to save a measly $40.00 in production costs and could end up costing you a bundle.

When buying a game with a ticket dispenser we strongly recommend that you insist they use "Deltronics" ticket dispensers and driver boards. Again, some dealers can save a few bucks by using lower cost brands but we have seen cheat artists shove items into these dispensers to make it dispense as many tickets as they want in no time at all.

Insist on a name brand monitor such as Wells Gardner.

2) Are the games you buy insured?  Great Lakes Amusement takes great strides to manufacture a safe reliable game by using only UL approved components and constantly monitoring quality. We have never had any fire dangers or safety issues with our games but still carry liability coverage to protect you against any unforeseen malfunctions. Be sure your supplier also carries some type of coverage on their games.

3) Can you get tech help for your games?  We only sell games that we can service for you. In addition we set up every game you buy to your specific needs before it ever leaves our facilities. Our goal is to simply have you plug your game in and play when it arrives. Ask your supplier a few tech questions before buying to be sure you can get help should you need it. We build all our own games and therefore know our games inside and out. Be careful when dealing with resellers who are only in it for the quick buck. These companies may be able to sell you games for a few bucks less but are they going to be there in 6 months when you need help?

4) How long is the warranty? Great Lakes Amusement gives a full 24 months on the bill acceptor, 18 months on game boards and 12 months on all other components. Be sure who you buy from puts it in writing.

5) How long has your supplier been selling games? We have been building and selling eight liners since 1993 and stay abreast of all the latest products. This is our only business and we strive to offer quality. A few suppliers sell everything from soup to nuts and know nothing about anything they are selling. There are several good dealers out there but just as many fly by nights who will sell just about anything from cheap jewelry to cheap eight liners. I refer to them as "Anything for a buck" companies.

Final Thoughts

We are a family run business that relies on repeat business to survive. The only way we know of to get repeat business is to provide a quality product and reliable support at a fair price. We may not have the absolute cheapest prices but we feel you get what you pay for. As we said before, there are several good, reliable companies selling games on the internet, unfortunately there are also a few unprofessional sellers out there doing anything to win your business. We just want you to be well informed when it comes to making your buying decision. We cannot have everyone's business since quality would suffer if that were the case, but what we do sell is A+ quality equipment.

If for some reason we do not fit your need's, give me a call and I will gladly give you the names of a few competitors who will treat you right.

Thank You for visiting our web site.
